Freaky Valentine Gift Ideas
It’s the 14th of February and the views on the Best Gothic Love Songs of All Time list are skyrocketing. I propose that all you sentimental lovebirds stop dwelling on other people’s lovestories, heartbreaks and hidden crushes though, and actually get out and go to your Valentine! All you need is a gift to go with your message of love. What should you get your Valentine? Well, as it is already the 14th, you may be screwed if you still have to ask this. However, in case you live next to some really awesome stores; here are some gift ideas to help you win your lovers’ heart. Otherwise, there’s always…

Respawned on the Other Side…
Where the **** has the Council been? Well, the title above says it all: I’m on the other side of the globe now (so no, not dead). -Btw, you can’t respawn in the afterlife; then you’re not actually respawning. Just saying this title would be bullsh*t if I actually meant “death” by “the other side”. Anyway, let’s get to the important stuff: the Council’s headquarters have moved from the cold north of Europe to the tropical Lion City in the far, far southeast. This whole odyssey took some preparation and adjustment time, and is therefore the reason for the two month coma of this website. Glad to notice the daily…

Fantastic Beasts ROASTED
No, not literally. I’m talking about the movie. As you may have read in the Hopes & Fears article, we had such high hopes for this movie. Now that many of you have probably seen it, it’s time to discuss the actual film. You may have figured this out for yourself, but that means SPOILER ALERT!! Let me start by saying; I liked this movie. This may not be a very popular opinion since some people seem to despise it from the very first close-up of Johnny Depp until the credits (that do not contain an extra movie scene by the way), but I cannot help it. After all, the…

George R.R. Martin is the Biggest Troll in the Universe
Not so long ago, I found this large pile of new dark/reddish fantasy literature in the bookstore. Do not judge me, but I had no idea a new George R.R. Martin was released. When I saw the name, for one second I thought it might be the Winds of Winter, the (very) long-awaited sequel to A Dance With Dragons. Of course, knowing dear old George, it wasn’t Winds of Winter. Let’s be honest; nobody asked for this book. It’s been seven years since A Dance With Dragons part II was released. And even then, fans were pretty disappointed that it was not Winds of Winter. I thought winter was coming but…

World Single’s Day??
Due to a number of spam emails I received this morning, I found out that today is World Single’s Day. Although this actually doesn’t apply to me, several webshops thought it nonetheless a good idea to urge me to use this special occasion as a reason to buy their clothes. I did not think that a good reason at all, but anyway, that’s not what I wanted to talk about. What I find remarkable about this day, is that it is apparently interpreted in rather different ways. One of my emails started like this: “HAPPY WORLD SINGLE’S DAY!” (no kidding, they used Caps Lock and all); and another started like…

Fantastic Beasts 2: Hopes & Fears
Are y’all excited for Warner Bros’ ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ (also known as ‘Let’s make money from our previous successes for as long as we possibly can’). Yes? Well that’s good news for Warner Bros. Don’t worry though; as a major Harry Potter fan I understand the need to desperately cling to any new piece of wizarding world. That’s also why I suspect that much like me, you are hoping for the best and fearing the worst while awaiting the newest ‘let’s milk Harry’ production. For sensitive fanboys- and girls, being prepared when you enter that cinema may prevent disappointment and utter despair before the credits start rolling…

PUBG Talk: Playzone Dweller vs. Action Seeker
Welcome to what will likely be the start of a series of PUBG talk on this site. I like talking about PUBG almost as much as I like playing it. So far there’s no cure available, except for bad WiFi, bugs and laggy servers. Today I want to address a dilemma you might face during mid- to endgame in classic solo mode. As fewer players are left and the safezone is shrinking, will you find a place to position yourself in the middle of the remaining playfield or will you keep moving ahead of the blue line as the playzone gets smaller and smaller? Btw, I’m not suggesting that these two…

Why Link (read: you) was a little **** during Breath of the Wild
You’ve played The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for hours and hours, but have you ever done any self-reflection? If not, take a moment to think about your actions. Done? That’s right; you have been a little **** the whole time. “But why??”, you’re probably asking. Link is the hero of the story right? Sorry to burst any bubbles here, but Link (and therefore you) is not behaving in a very hero-like manner (oh no!). First and most importantly, there’s Zelda; using all her strength to control Ganon and keep him bound inside Hyrule castle. She’s only been doing that for a hundred years (no big deal)…
